A special project to help locate people who tend to wander off proved crucial to locating an elderly Quinte West man last Saturday morning.
The man, who has Alzheimer’s disease, walked away from a location in Trenton, but luckily, he was part of the Project Lifesaver program, and was wearing a small wrist band that sends radio signals.
Quinte West OPP were able to track the signals almost immediately and found the man about a kilometre away from his home.
Project Lifesaver helps families with relatives suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia and other cognitive disorders.
