New development is planned for Foxboro. Belleville’s planning staff is recommending the city’s planning committee approve rezoning of vacant land for a condominium agreement involving 8 single family homes.
The homes would front on to 70 Mudcat Road, just east of Ashley Street in Foxboro.
Some residents have worries about water quantity and quality.
Meanwhile, the planning committee will be asked to approve one of two options for a new storage unit business at 970 Highway 37.
City staff is recommending allowing rezoning for a maximum of 76 traditional site built storage units or for a maximum 76 well maintained shipping containers.
The owner of the property, Glen Jarrell, wants to use shipping containers, while city staff believe they could be unsightly and provide an unfair competitive advantage over existing storage unit businesses.
And, finally, planning staff are recommending a rezoning to allow the sale of a surplus municipal building in Cannifton to be sold to two psychologists.
The building, at 154 Cannifton Road became vacant when the community archives were moved in to the Belleville Public Library.
Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee meets today(Monday) at 5:30 at city hall.
