The OPP has released the name of the man killed in a shooting incident on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory early yesterday morning (Sunday).
Forty-three year old Ken Ferrill of the Territory was pronounced dead in hospital after being injured at a residence on Deserontyon Drive.
Emergency services were called shortly after 3 in the morning. OPP officers in large numbers began a search for a young man possibly armed with a rifle. Police surrounded a residence on the Territory and after 9 yesterday morning, a 25 year old man surrendered to police without incident.
He has not been identified, and an investigation continues.
A post mortem on Mr. Ferrill’s body is to be done today (Monday) in Ottawa.
