Some good news for County residents and visitors traveling through Picton.
Construction season in the downtown core will take a break Thursday and pick up again after Labour Day.
Picton’s $5.2 million Main Street rehabilitation project began in the early spring, closing traffic from Ross Street to Bridge Street.
Chief Administrative Officer James Hepburn says crews have started to lay asphalt today and Picton Main Street will open Canada Day July 1st until September 5.
The project includes upgrades to water, sewer, sanitary, sidewalks, lighting and curbs.
