Brighton council might be looking at building a water tower in urban Brighton in the near future.
At its meeting tonight, council will see a report from Lakefield Utility Services suggesting that putting up a
water tower, basically an elevated water storage tank, could be less expensive than a second water main from the water plant into town.
Brighton council is considering a second watermain to provide back up water in case the main line breaks.
Tonight, council will decide whether to pay for a feasability report on a water tower.
Meanwhile, There has been a fair bit of discussion around concerns about water quality in Presqu’ile Bay by Brighton council over the past few months.
