After surpassing last year’s goal by about $25,000 organizers of the Quinte West YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign have set another lofty mark to hit for 2016.
A launch event was held today for this year’s campaign, which will try to raise $85,000 to help families shoulder the financial load of putting their kids in YMCA activity programs.
Gino Leone has been tapped as this year’s campaign chair and is looking forward to the challenge.
Staff at the Quinte West YMCA have already pitched in about $6,000 and the campaign will also get a significant boost from this summer’s Trenton Dragon Boat Festival, which donated about $13,500 last year.
