Every seven minutes someone in Canada dies from heart disease or a stroke and that’s spurred the Public Relations class at Loyalist College to put on a new community event tomorrow.
Keeping the Pace for Heart and Stroke will run between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at the Quinte Mall Community Booth.
Organizer Andrew Miller tells Quinte News students and others will spend the day riding a stationary bike to raise awareness.
And, he adds, even Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher will be participating.
While there may be an opportunity for walk-up riders to join the fun, Miller says they mostly just want people to stop by and learn about the work the Heart and Stroke Foundation does.
Of course, they’ll be accepting donations as well.
