False alarms are going to cost you more if you live in Quinte West. Quinte West’s Protective Services Committee has voted to increase the fines for false alarms to 50 dollars for the second call, up from 25, and to 100 dollars for a third false alarm, also up from 25 dollars. Quinte West Fire Chief said his department responded to 158 false alarms last year, mostly involving one out of region security company. Quinte West Council will make the final decision on the increases.
