The Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre will be the scene of a major trade show next year.

About 200 exhibitors are expected to show up for the Ontario Road Supervisors Municipal Trade Show in June of 2018.

Public works officials representing municipalities from Belleville to Kingston appeared before city council this week outlining the event which they will host.

Joe Reid of Belleville staff told council that local golfing facilities, the new casino and the fact Belleville is so central were factors in bringing the event here.

Reid says it is expected to draw about 2,000 people.
