A man well known in hockey circles across Canada has been arrested in an RCMP investigation.
39-year-old Tyler King was arrested at the Landowne border crossing, just outside of Kingston, on Friday October 30, 2026.
King faces multiple charges, including luring minors, sexual exploitation, and making child pornography.
Mounties allege the offences involved minor league players from Alberta and Saskatchewan while King was employed by the Okotoks Oilers (a junior hockey club), between 2021 and 2024.
King has worked in business/hockey ops and media roles across Canada.
Officers arrested King as he returned from his teaching position at a university in New York State.
Locally, King worked as a part-time staff member of the Belleville Senators.
In a statement to Quinte News, the team stated the following. “Tyler King is a part-time worker on game nights, and we have been made aware of the serious allegations around him. He will not be working with us while this investigation is ongoing, and we will provide any assistance required by the RCMP.”
Police believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact the RCMP.
