The Belleville Senators have announced they will be hosting an OJHL game between the Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks at CIBC Place on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

A storied local junior hockey rivalry and an old tradition are coming back to CIBC Place next month.
As part of the club’s “Hockey Weekend in Quinte,” the Belleville Senators are proud to host an Ontario Junior Hockey League game between the Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks at CIBC Place on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
This edition of the “Battle of Quinte” revives a longstanding tradition of regular games between Trenton and Wellington, being played at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre in Belleville, bringing the rivalry into the heart of the Bay of Quinte, and onto a bigger stage.
“I’m completely blown away by the love of hockey in the Bay of Quinte Region, and that shows up at the arenas in Wellington and Trenton every week,” said Belleville Sens Vice President of Business Operations John Mathers. “As part of Hockey Weekend in Quinte, we wanted to create an event that recognizes the important role junior hockey plays in developing players, building communities and inspiring the next generation of fans. A rivalry game between Trenton and Wellington at CIBC Place, the largest hockey venue in our area, is a perfect fit, and we’re excited to provide a new stage for these athletes to showcase their talent.”
While the game will be a chance for the Senators to promote the next wave of local talent and recognize the importance of Junior A clubs in the Bay of Quinte’s hockey landscape, for the Dukes it’s an opportunity to get players exposed to a higher level and to play an important game in a new environment.
“Anytime we play Trenton, it’s awesome. But playing at CIBC Place and the Sens facilities will be really cool. It’s an opportunity for our staff and players to get a little bit of a taste of what the next level has to offer,” said Wellington Dukes Head Coach and General Manager Jacob Panetta. “I was never a part of any of the games against Trenton in Belleville. But our assistant coach, Darcy Murphy told me it’s something that he always loved and looked forward to every year. We want to thank the Senators for hosting us and giving our players this experience.”
