The City of Belleville is calling on the public to help fill a survey that will guide future tourism to the area.
The city says it is developing a Destination Development Plan in partnership with Bannikin, an Ontario-based tourism consultancy, that will proactively guide tourism work in the city over the next five years.
The strategy development process will involve widespread community engagement with residents, tourism businesses, partner organizations and other interest groups.
The project launched in late August 2026 and is expected to conclude in late March 2027.
Some things the city is looking to better understand is how tourism is experienced today, where opportunities exist, what gaps should be addressed, how private sector product development can be supported and what priorities should guide future tourism development.
The city says the online questionnaire takes approximately five to ten minutes to complete and will be open from October 7 to 28.
Respondents will be entered into a draw to win a $200 gift certificate for Marlin Travel when they complete the survey.
This project was funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Rural Affairs.
