One person has been charged with drug related offences.
Members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation into a local individual suspected of trafficking cocaine during the summer of 2026.
On September 22, CSCU and uniform members of the Prince Edward County Detachment executed a search warrant, and the investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately 71 grams of suspected cocaine, $5490 in Canadian currency and items typically associated with drug trafficking.
Forty-seven-year-old Jaylene Hicks of Picton was arrested and charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
