A local figure skater is celebrating gold after an impressive victory on the international stage over the weekend.
Quinte West’s Trennt Michaud and his pairs partner Lia Pereira captured top spot at the Nebelhorn Trophy Senior Figure Skating competition in Germany.
The duo dominated the event, taking first place in both the Short Program and Free Skating segments.
This gold medal adds to a stellar year for the pair, who previously earned bronze at the World Championships in Czechia and set a personal best at the Winter Olympics.
