The official list of candidates for the 2026 municipal election has been released in Quinte West.
Running for mayor are current Ward 1 councillor Zack Card, Ward 2 councillor Shelley Stedall, and David Thomson who does not currently hold a council seat.
Running for council seats representing Ward 1 are incumbent Leslie Roseblade, along with Paul Bartz, Gilles Bourke, Matthew Brumsey, Mike Cowan, Spencer Hutchinson, Trevor McMillan, Brent Parsons, Ricky Tyler, and Robert Wharram. There are five seats up for grabs with 10 candidates running.
In Ward 2, there are nine candidates vying for four seats. Those candidates are incumbents Egerton Boyce and Don Kuntze, along with Brian J. Arthur, John Deslodges, Allan Dewitt, Kandis Hambly, Jesse David, Kieth Poulin, and Kate Widdifield.
Ward 3 has two seats up for grabs with six candidates running. There are no incumbent candidates running, with the six newcomers being Brian Crews, Tim Durkin, Doug Herrington, Jordan Hoyland, David Lovely, and Ed Santos.
There is only one seat in Ward 4 and two candidates running. Those candidates are Matt Joice and JD Brown.
