Applications are now open for the fall intake of Quinte West’s Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP).
Local homeowners, investors, and developers are invited to apply for financial incentives designed to boost affordable and rental housing options in Quinte West.
With five incentive streams available, and the option to stack qualifying programs, the 2026 Housing CIP helps offset key development expenses, including:
- Development charges
- Planning and building permit fees
- Property taxes
The Housing CIP is designed to encourage the development of new rental housing opportunities, additional dwelling units and other affordable housing projects that will help meet local housing needs.
A total of 107 purpose-built rental units are already being supported through over $2 million in funding incentives under the Housing CIP in 2026.
Of these, 42 units will be affordable, with rental rates offered at or below 80% of the local Average Market Rent.
“We encourage qualified applicants interested in helping create affordable housing options in Quinte West to complete an ‘Intent to Apply’ form on the city’s website,” says Brian Jardine, Director of Planning and Development Services. “Whether you’re a homeowner building an additional residential unit or a developer planning a larger residential project, the CIP program offers support to work together to build a stronger community.”
