Four new candidates have filed their nomination papers to run for council seats in Quinte West in the 2026 municipal election.
Two people registered to run in Ward 1 – Trenton on Wednesday, including Gilles Bourke and Brent Parsons.
A total of eight people are running in that ward.
Meantime, David Jesse filed his papers to run in Ward 2 – Sidney.
For that ward, seven people are running to earn the council seat.
Finally, Ward 3 – Murray saw David Lovely file his nomination papers to run.
Five people are running in that ward.
Candidates must file their nomination papers with the City Clerk before the close of nominations on Friday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m
