The Town of Greater Napanee says that repairs have been completed to the roof of Town Hall.
The town says that they focused on improving the integrity and waterproofing of the existing roof through a series of targeted repairs.
These repairs included replacing sealant around vent stack flashings, reinforcing roof membrane patches, coating pitch pockets with a UV-stable protective product, and replacing sealant on skylight seams, roof hatch flashings, parapets, coping caps, and other roof details.
The town says that all roof fasteners were also inspected, and any loose or missing fasteners were replaced to enhance waterproofing.
In addition, a new protective coating was applied to the roof of Town Hall.
The coating was installed in two coats, with spot priming completed over areas of corrosion and all roof details, to provide additional durability and protection from the weather.
Now that roof repairs are complete, the town says that planning continues for the next phases of rehabilitation work at Town Hall.
Following council direction, staff are currently working on a revised interior floor plan for the main level of the building.
Once the floor plan is approved, the engineering and architectural work required will begin to complete construction drawings and obtain the necessary permit approvals.
Preliminary design work will also begin on the Rotary Market Structure. Design concepts for the structure are expected to be presented to council in the coming months for review and consideration.
