Emergency crews out of CFB Trenton’s Joint Rescue Coordination Centre are continuing their aerial sweep for a missing 73-year-old aviator.
The seasoned pilot, identified by Durham Police as David, failed to return after taking off from the Oshawa Airport on Friday.
Search efforts are currently concentrated east of Orillia, focusing on the airspace near Balsam Lake and northwest of Bobcaygeon.
Local residents in the Kawartha Lakes region should expect low-flying planes and helicopters as teams comb the terrain from above.
Anyone who was in the area over the weekend is urged to report any potential sightings of the overdue aircraft to authorities.
