The rehabilitation of Belleville’s Upper Front Street Bridge is scheduled to begin this month.
The City of Belleville has contracted Urbanlink Civil Ltd. for the work which will result in a full closure of the bridge to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
The project includes structural repairs to the bridge, replacement of key bridge components, waterproofing, roadway paving, utility work and other improvements to help extend the life of the structure.
Signed detours will be in place throughout the project and residents and businesses will be notified in advance of any additional traffic disruptions required to complete the work.
Appropriate signage will be maintained at all times to help guide motorists and pedestrians safely through the area.
Work is expected to be completed by winter 2027.
