Belleville police have arrested a man for public intoxication.
On November 3 at 3:30 p.m, officers responded to a call for service in the city’s east end regarding a suspicious person. Police were told an unknown man was attempting to enter a home while the homeowner was inside.
When officers arrived, they immediately found the man nearby, who was uncooperative. While talking to him, officers determined he was intoxicated.
For his own safety, a 64-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place. He was later released from police custody once sober.
