Local health officials are urging residents to take immediate precautions as an intense heat wave settles the entire region.
It stretches right from Port Hope to Kingston, Prince Edward County to Bancroft.
The extreme weather will bring dangerously high humidity and overnight lows that will offer little relief.
Everyone is advised to reschedule outdoor activities to the morning or evening and to utilize community cooling centres if their homes lack air conditioning.
You should monitor yourself for early signs of heat exhaustion, including dizziness, dark urine, and intense fatigue.
Remember that heat stroke is a medical emergency, so call 911 immediately if you or someone nearby exhibits confusion or red, hot skin.
The peak of the heat will be Tuesday with the mercury climbing into the mid-30’s, into the low to mid 40’s for the humidex value.
