Prince Edward County firefighters leapt into action early this morning after a home caught fire in Ameliasburgh.
Firefighters responded to the home on Carter Road at 12:44 a.m. The home’s occupants had been alerted to the fire by smoke alarms, and had all safely exited the building.
Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the flames, and had the fire under control at 1:36.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire, however, it is not believed to be suspicious. Damages have been estimated at $250,000.
