The Hastings Prince Edward Learning Foundation is launching a volunteer recruitment drive, seeking help running their food for learning program.
Food for Learning supports an average of 7,100 students daily and provides over 1.7 million meals and snacks annually for students in need. The program helps students across all publicly funded schools in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties with nutritious breakfasts, snacks, or lunches.
With rising food insecurity, more students than ever need the meal supports offered by the Food for Learning Program, meaning more volunteers are needed to keep the program running sustainably.
