Registration is now open for the United Way Hastings Prince Edward’s Backpacks for Success program.
For $12, students from kindergarten to Grade 12 can receive a backpack filled with grade-appropriate school supplies, including a lunch bag and water bottle. To register, visit the United Way’s website here. Registrations close on July 17.
A school supply collection drive is also being held to support the program. Those with school supplies to donate are encouraged to visit Lange & Fetter Motors in Trenton between August 11 and 14 to make their donation.
Approximately 14,000 backpacks were distributed during the 2025 year of the program.
