A Belleville man has been charged with sexual assault.
Belleville police were called to an apartment complex in the city’s east end on Canada Day.
It was reported that a male drove a female to her home, and prior to her exiting the vehicle, sexually assaulted her.
The next day, as the result of an investigation, a 26-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
- Sexual assault
- Fail to comply with probation order
He was released on an undertaking with a scheduled court date in August.
