A ground-breaking ceremony took place on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory for a new triplex.
The multi-unit development is being constructed on Flat Street.
Project cost is at $985,719, and is being made possible through Indigenous Service Canada’s Housing Gaps funding.
In total, the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte will receive $2,838,000 through the New Construction stream, which include seven additional tiny houses to Flat Street for a total of 10 new housing units.
Construction is expected to begin in July, with completion anticipated for December 2026.
