The South East Public Health unit has reappointed Nathan Townend as chair of the board, after a change in municipal appointment briefly left them without a chair.
During Wednesday’s meeting of the board of health, the board briefly discussed how Townend’s recent departure from elected municipal office in Lennox and Addington County automatically saw him removed from the board.
Lennox and Addington County immediately hired Townend as Director of Communications and Community Development, and reappointed him as representative to the board, but this didn’t automatically restore his position as board chair.
After a brief discussion, the board voted to reappoint Townend to the board chair position to finish the 2026 term.
