Belleville police responded to 73 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m .on June 23, 2026 to 5 a.m. on June 24, 2026.
Intimate Partner Violence:
On June 23, 2026 at 11:30 p.m., Belleville police attended a residence in the city’s west end regarding a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the involved parties where it was reported that a verbal altercation between a male and a female had escalated, resulting in the male striking the female.
As a result of investigation, a 44-year-old Oshawa man, was arrested and charged with assault – spousal.
He was held for a bail hearing.
Intimate Partner Violence:
On June 24, 2026,at 12:36 a.m., Belleville police responded to a report of an assault in the city’s east end. It was reported that a witness observed a male punching a female in a parking lot. When witnesses intervened, the female fled the area on foot. Officers spoke with the male suspect, who remained on scene, and subsequently located the female to obtain further information about the incident.
As a result of investigation, a 41-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with assault – spousal and fail to comply with a probation order.
