Marmora and Lake council is down to four members.
According to The Community Press, Councillor Jane Lakatos resigned from council earlier his month
saying it could have corrected a mistake made after its Integrity Commissioner
found council discussed an agreement with the local Lions Club in a closed session when it should have
been done in an open meeting.

Those meetings were held last year. The Integrity Commissioner’s report was released last month.
Council has agreed with the commissioner that post-election, the new council and senior staff will receive in-depth training on which subjects should or should not be discussed in a closed meeting.
See the Integrity Commissioner’s report here.
Marmora and Lake council is expected to decide on Tuesday how or if Lakatos’ seat will be filled.
Staff is recommending it be filled by appointment of someone who ran in the 2022 municipal election.
