Belleville fire and emergency services have released new details about a fire on Summit Crescent on Monday.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at close to 4:40 in the afternoon and quickly extinguished a fire on the exterior of a single-detached home.
The fire had spread into the roof of the structure, as well as an exterior wall. Heat from the flames also caused some siding on an adjacent building to melt. Damage to the house is estimated to be approximately $297,000.
The home was occupied at the time of the fire, but all occupants were able to escape safely without injury.
Belleville fire would like to remind the public to call the fire department immediately, as early response can help limit damage. The public is also being reminded to not store large amounts of combustible material in or around structures, as that can create a fire hazard.
