Quinte Legion Lynx senior girls pole vaulter Isla Bibby from Bayside Secondary School established another new meet record of 3.70m at the OFSAA East Regionals meet at Thousand Islands Secondary School in Brockville.
Bibby has competed in 6 meets this outdoor season, and along the way she has broken every meet record starting with Kingston Limestone Legacy, TISS Burnbrae Farms Invitational, Bay of Quinte Invitational, Bay of Quinte Championships, COSSA, and now the OFSSA East Regional in her final year of high school. Next week Bibby enters OFSSA ranked 2nd in Ontario and the meet will take place in St Catherines.
Other members of the club off to OFSAA include Griffin Coffey of Centennial SS who was 3rd in Sr Boys pole vault with a jump of 3.90m.
In Junior boys pole vault Hudson Brown St T’s won gold with a leap of 3.50m.
Charlee Sage of St T’s claimed double silver medals with a jump of 3.05m in Jr girls pole vault. Sage also captured a second silver medal in Junior girls 80m hurdles with a seasonal best time of 12.34 seconds.
In Novice girls pole vault, Ella Bolton of NCC struck gold with a jump of 2.60m. Anabelle Aucoin-Satri of Bayside SS placed 3rd with a vault of 2.35m.
Josh Thomas of Bayside SS captured two more medals to his collection, a gold in Sr boys high jump of 2.01m and silver medal in Sr. boys long jump with a leap of 6.72m.
Tua Esekia Centre Hastings SS
Tua Esekia of Centre Hastings SS won gold in Jr. boys shot put with a put of 15.69m.
Kem Kemka of Bayside SS beat all comers in both Sr boys shot put with throws of 13.96m and Sr boys discus 45.40m to claim another double gold.
Sydney Johnson of NCC who has won every event of her season claimed another two gold in Sr girls discus 38.21m and Sr girls shot put 11.15m. Johnson has won all 8 east regional golds in her 4 year career.
OFSAA will take place in St. Catherines at the Niagara Olympic Club June 4-6th.
