A Belleville man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and assault with a weapon.
On August 5, 2026, Belleville police say an adult female reported to the them that she had been sexually assaulted and assaulted with a weapon by her former spouse.
Members of the Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation into the allegations.
As a result of the investigation, a 66-year-old Belleville man was arrested on August 20, 2026, and charged with:
- Sexual Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
