Officers from the Peterborough County OPP detachment are investigating a reported threat involving a school located in Lakefield.
On Monday, shortly after 10 a.m., officers received a call regarding a potential threat that had been received by the school. The staff at the school immediately initiated their safety protocols which included contacting police.
Officers arrived on scene minutes later and after a sweep of the school was conducted, it was confirmed that there was no immediate risk to the safety of the students or staff.
The OPP Major Crime Unit has been engaged to assist with the ongoing investigation into the source of the threat.
