Hastings County has completed a study examining the feasibility of opening a new hotel in the region.
A report on the study was discussed during Tuesday’s Planning and Development Committee meeting.
The study found that the prime location in Hastings County for a new hotel is in Bancroft, around the Highway 62 and 28 corridor. The location was found to be favourable as it would serve travellers moving through the north of Hastings County and surrounding cottage areas.
Based on historical performance, the study recommended that an economy or midsize hotel, with up to 60 rooms be developed in the area.
The committee accepted the report, but did not take any other action at this time.
