One local team won and the other lost in Ontario Junior Hockey League action Friday night.
The Trenton Golden Hawks defeated the Newmarket Hurricanes 4-2. Scoring for Trenton were Lucas Digiantommaso, Joshua Penny, Jamie Darlison, and Thomas Kuipers.
The game was played in front of 613 fans at the Duncan MacDonald Community Gardens.
Meanwhile the Toronto Patriots beat the Wellington Dukes 7-4 in a rough, penalty-filled game.
Getting goals for the Dukes were Cole Ellis, Liam Campbell, Aiden Lee, and William Mitchell.
Toronto outshot Wellington 47 to 24.
On Sunday ,Stouffville will visit Trenton at 6:30 while Pickering will visit Wellington at 7:30.
In Jr. C quarterfinal playoff action Friday night Napanee took game one 6-1 over Port Hope.
Game 2 is Saturday in Port Hope at 7:30.
Also on Saturday it’s Trent Hills at Frankford at 7 o’clock and Amherstview at Picton at 7:30.
In the Northern Premier League, the round 2 best-of-five series starts Saturday with Durham in Deseronto at 7 o’clock and Tweed in Smiths Falls at 7:30.
