The City of Quinte West is now accepting applications for the spring intake of the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) program, which offers funding to help local businesses enhance and revitalize their properties.
The CIP program provides up to 50 per cent in matching funding for eligible projects, such as building and property renovations, signage upgrades, façade improvements, and upper-storey conversions. There are maximum funding amounts identified in the plan. Additionally, local tourism operators are eligible to apply for funding to support enhancements to their tourism offerings.
“The city’s goal is to help local businesses improve their operations, helping to make Quinte West an even more vibrant place to live, work, and visit,” says Linda Lisle, Manager of Economic Development and Tourism Services. “This CIP funding allows eligible businesses to invest in their properties and contribute to the economic growth of the community.”
In 2025, city council approved $200,000 in CIP funding to be distributed across the spring and fall intake periods. Last year, fifteen CIP applications were submitted, of which eight have been completed and received funding.”
“Sometimes we overthink it when it comes to grant and funding applications,” says Maribeth Collins. “This process was easy and we could not have done this renovation project without the CIP funding.”
Business owners interested in applying are encouraged to visit the city’s website (quintewest.ca/CIP) for full program details and requirements prior to the March 5, 2026, deadline.
