A newly minted AHL All-Star was the overtime hero for the Belleville Senators Friday night.
Arthur Kaliyev scored his league-leading 25th goal helping the B-Sens overcome a late Rochester comeback to beat the Americans, 5-4 in overtime.
Belleville got off to big start with a 3-0 lead late in the second period.
The team saw goals come from Cameron Crotty in the first, as well as Tyler Boucher and Wyatt Bongiovanni in the second.
Rochester would not stay down, however, as Isak Rosen got the Americans on the board 17:34 into the second, followed less than a minute later by Jagger Joshua to get the team within one of the B-Sens.
Keean Washkurak extended the lead back to two with a goal 45 seconds into the third period.
The Americans were able to tie the game with Isak Rosen adding two additional goals to his tally, getting a hat trick and bringing the game into overtime.
Rochester’s comeback was not enough as Arthur Kaliyev scored his 25th goal of the season, leading all of the American Hockey League, to get the victory for Belleville.
The B-Sens next head to Ottawa to play a game at the Canadian Tire Centre.
They will take on the Utica Comets with puck drop scheduled for 5 p.m.
