An update to Belleville’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP) will be up for discussion at city council’s meeting Monday.
The 15 programs offered under the plan provide various financial incentives for the construction of new and affordable housing, downtown revitalization, and brownsfields redevelopment.
If approved by council, the incentives in the update will use money from the Federal Housing Accelerator Fund into 2028 when the funding expires.
Almost $3 million is left for housing incentives, expected to support construction of around 200 new residential units.
Details on proposed incentive programs offered under the CIP can be seen here.
