Team Denmark has named Mads Soggard of the Ottawa/Belleville Senators as one of three goaltenders for the games in Italy.
“The Great Dane” as he is known, has played a combined 83 games for Belleville since being drafted in 2019, along with 30 games in the nation’s capital.
Philipp Grubauer had two seasons in Belleville between 2008 and 2010.
His game has taken him to the NHL, where the German has played several hundred games between Washington, Seattle, and Colorado.
He will join the likes of Tim Stutzle and Leon Draisaitl to play for Deutschland.
