Roads, streets, and sidewalks are ice-covered and very slippery in spots.
However, traffic is moving on Highway 401 and there are no significant power outages in the area.
The freezing rain or drizzle is expected to end early Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, Prince Edward County has declared a Significant Weather Event meaning that public works crews are on the job but may be delayed clearing streets because of the conditions.
