Councils in both Brighton and Tyendinaga Territory have joined others in the area in issuing a Significant Weather Event declaration.
The declaration serves to warn residents that due to imminent inclement weather (freezing rain, rain, and wind) the municipality will continue efforts to keep roads and other infrastructure safe however will not be able to do so in as timely a manner as usual.
