Looking ahead to 2026, Quinte News spoke with the MPP for the Northumberland—Peterborough South, David Piccini, about what he’s looking forward to in his riding.
Piccini outlined some of the capital priorities and projects.
“We’ve made big investments in Keene, new renos in Norwood, the new roof at King Edward Park Arena in Brighton. But there’s going to continue to be pressures. I know Grafton arena, I know we’re looking at an additional water tower in Port Hope,” Piccini tells Quinte News.
He also notes the potential for nuclear capacity for his riding.
“I mean, this is massive. This is a GDP game changer for our region,” Piccini says.
“Loyalist College has been very active on the Wesleyville file, and for energy security, for us to be a country that’s an energy superpower, it’s going to mean a lot of good jobs. So it’s an exciting opportunity, and these are some of the big capital projects that we’re going to be working on in the year ahead.”
