A motion for an injunction to keep police from going onto private property in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory has been dismissed.
In late September, a Tyendinaga Territory man Kanenhariyo Seth Lefort filed an application for an injunction with the Superior Court of Justice to stop the OPP, Tyendinaga Police Service, and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Band council from being able to interfere in any way with property or persons in the territory.
The injunction attempt was in reaction to several major police operations on the territory that led to the seizure of thousands of marijuana plants worth over $100 million.
Several people, including a few from the territory, were arrested.
The application and motion were heard on December 10 and were dismissed by the judge.
