A Kingston woman is the grand prize winner of the Cab4Cancer Lottery with the Belleville General Hospital Foundation and Lange and Fetter Ford in Trenton.
On Tuesday afternoon, Ann Messenger was called and told the good news.
STEVE COOK “You are our lucky winner of the Ford F150 truck or $90,000 cash. It’s entirely up to you! “
ANN MESSENGER “Oh my gosh, you’re kidding! It’s absolutely wonderful. Oh my goodness.”
Messenger says she has purchased tickets for several lottos.
“I had my hip replaced at Belleville hospital. They were absolutely wonderful to me, so I’ve bought tickets ever since.”
She has a choice of the 2025 F150 Lariat or $90,000 in cash.
Messenger will be taking the Christmas holiday to decide.
Wayne Shepphard is the board chair for the foundation.
“We need the money made from these draws and from donations in order to allow the foundation to be able to purchase replacement equipment or new equipment. It’s most important that we be positive and continue to move forward to support the hospital.”
Various lotto draws the hospital has done in 2025 have raised more than $1 million for cancer care at BGH.
Executive director of BGHF Steve Cook says people across the province and country have been buying tickets since the lotteries began.
Russ MacDonald with Lange and Fetter says they could not think of a better way to support the community than to support the hospital, as everyone needs health care.
A draw for the 50/50 was also held and Alan Hernden was the winner of more than $30,000.
