The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board has announced it has ranked fourth in graduation rates for all English-speaking school boards in Ontario.
It comes after the school ranked 12th in board graduation rates of the 72 school boards in the province.
The ALCDSB’s four-year graduation rates surpass the provincial average once again this year, with the 2020-2021 graduation rates of 91.4%.
“These graduation rates demonstrate our commitment to prioritizing programs designed to support students who are at risk of not graduating,” said Sonya Melim, Superintendent of Education, in a release. “Through a tiered system of intervention and individualized programming, the board ensures that every student receives the support they need to achieve success.”
“We are beyond proud of our graduation rates, which stand as a testament to the dedicated work being done to foster excellence in Catholic education and support everyone’s learning on their journey to graduation and beyond.”
To achieve an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, a student must complete 30 credits (17 compulsory, 13 electives), the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, complete 40 hours of community service and a minimum of two online credits.
