The municipality has yet to set its 2026 budget but O’Neil says there are a few proposals likely to be on the list.
Marmora and Lake will set its 2026 budget early in the new year.
O’Neil says the possibility of high-speed rail through the area is also an exciting prospect.
The federal government’s planned high-speed rail project would connect Toronto and Quebec City.
It’s still years away as work is scheduled to start on the first line from Ottawa to Montreal in 2029.
Alto is the crown corporation overseeing the project.
She says they’ll also be keeping an eye on the province’s plan to merge conservation authorities.
Marmora and Lake falls into both Quinte Conservation and Crowe Valley Conservation territory.
Three electric vehicle chargers are also being installed in the downtown in early 2026.
