Northumberland OPP have arrested two people and seized a number of items following a collision.
EMS, police, and fire crews responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a tree near Oak Ridges Drive and Harwood Road on Thursday around 10:50 a.m.
Police received information that a weapon may have been inside the vehicle.
The driver was then said to have fled the scene, prompting an increased police presence.
The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) assisted with containment, and the individual was taken into custody and taken to hospital with minor injuries from the collision.
A search of the vehicle and surrounding area resulted in the seizure of an imitation weapon, suspected drugs, and drug paraphernalia.
As a result, 27-year-old Victoria Wilson from the Township of Hamilton, has been charged with:
- Obstruct peace officer
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in January 2026.
Thirty-eight-year-old Ryan Webb of Port Hope has been charged with:
- Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
- Operation while prohibited
- Driving while under suspension
- Fail to remain
The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
