“Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is thrilled to be the Grand Marshal at this year’s Pride Parade. Our staff, students and families were at the flag-raising event at the Wellness Centre and we know there’s lots of interest in the Pride Parade. We invite the community to come and join us this Saturday.”
What else is HPEDSB doing to celebrate Pride?
Pride flags are proudly displayed year-round at all HPEDSB schools and buildings. This one small step reinforces the HPEDSB commitment to school communities being safe and welcoming for all learners, staff and their families.
In addition, the Equity Action Plan (pdf) describes goals and actions that are focused on four equity priority areas:
- school and classroom practices;
- leadership and human resources practices;
- positive culture and well-being;
- and data collection and reporting.
Equity of opportunity and equity of access to all programs, services and resources are critical to the well-being of all who serve the school system and to the achievement of successful outcomes for each student.
HPEDSB is committed to providing an environment where all staff, students and their families feel seen, heard, welcomed, and that they belong.
