A Trenton resident is in Ottawa this week offering emotional and spiritual care to residents impacted by the catastrophic Victoria Day weekend storm.
Gail Conrick, 74, is volunteering as a crisis-trained Rapid Response Team chaplain with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada.
Conrick is also volunteering to help clean up the storm-damaged city.
This is the second Rapid Response Team deployment for Conrick, who is the pastor at Smithfield Christian Congregational Church. Last summer, she helped wildfire victims in Vernon, British Columbia.
Conrick is also a chaplain with the Quinte West Fire Department, and an on-call chaplain at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
She has lived in Trenton for 17 years.
Conrick returns home June 5.
